About the Founder

Patternfield App is the brainchild of Nerida Hansen, design agent and fabric entrepreneur.

Before her own brand took off, Nerida was a buyer of kids and teens bedlinen at Target Australia. She knows first-hand the challenges that Art Directors and Product Managers have in filling their ranges with unique and commercial designs.

It was Nerida’s experience as a commercial buyer that inspired her to represent independent designers, and since 2016 she has sold and licensed hundreds of designs to some of the biggest retailers worldwide. She connected with buyers at design fairs in New York, Frankfurt and Paris but it was in between the annual fairs where she saw the artists crying out for opportunities to connect with buyers. As a result, Patternfield App was born. A 24/7 trade show for buyers and designers to connect.

The tech game is a challenging one, and creating the Pattenfield App as a design director certainly had its share of challenges for Nerida. But after a year of positive results on the first two iterations of the platform, Nerida joined forces with Australian tech entrepreneur Matthew Ryan and his team at Journey Horizon who truly have skin in the game when it comes to marketplace software.

As a result, Patternfield App is truly now a visionary platform which truly revolutionises the Design and Surface Art Industry.
