Hi, I'm Rebecca, an experienced surface pattern designer, illustrator and artist with a first class honours degree in textile and fashion design management, specialising in print, from Heriot-Watt University (formerly the Scottish College of Textiles). Living in central Scotland, UK, I'm influenced by my lush local surroundings, interpreting the culture of Glasgow, Paisley, the Scottish Highlands (where I grew up), and the Art Nouveau style of famous Scottish architect and designer, Charles Rennie Mackintosh. I create my motifs and textures using a variety of analogue and digital mediums such as screen and gelli-plate printing and Procreate, manipulating them into vibrant patterns using both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. I also have a small selection of my pattern designs and illustrations produced as art prints, cards, mugs, coasters, lampshades and silk scarves. Recent project commissions include: * A bespoke pattern and label for a local Scottish gin company (Buddies Gin, images below) * Intergenerational art workshops leading to a mural and pattern template for a local cycle route project (which won an award March 2022) * Community-influenced pattern design for privacy glass at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, Scotland * A pattern-led ad campaign for posters, bus shelters, kiosks and billboards with a community group * Art Nouveau wall mural and wallpaper collection licensed with online retailer Wallsauce.com I'd love to expand my portfolio of work and see my designs licensed/sold for products such as bolt fabric, journals, scrapbooking/washi tape, interiors, fashion...
